Not sure if this info is relevant now but I was in the Catskills on Sunday 01/23 and encountered nice deep snow. We were in the Blackhead Range, not the Devil's Path, and did not experience any ice. Most of the group used snowshoes and a couple wore Microspikes.
I have found the Devil's Path to be very icy in winter, especially the west facing slopes of Sugarloaf and Twin. Lots of fun if you have the tools for ascending and descending safely
