Ummm...who said the cordoned off area was because of rockfall??? Nesting Ravens more like it!

Given the quickness with which PK staff have invoked THE MASTER PLAN <genuflect> when asked about climbing elsewhere in the park, I wonder...is there provision in TMP <genuflect> for nesting closures to accomodate non-threatened species??

The birds are pretty special I guess, as the closed area encompasses roughly 25% of the published routes at Peters Kill.

I showed up on Saturday around 12:30pm to grab one of the last 10 passes at Peter's Kill and take my first tour of the place, guide book in hand.

My overall view was prety favorable. Though it was crowded, there was plenty to choose from. And for me, with only one lead last year after starting to lead the year before, it was just the kind of climbing I needed to get back on the sharp end.

My favorite was the Captain's Log. A simple, straight forward 5.4g that made me feel pretty good. Then I set up a top-rope and climbed 4 variations of the Kling-On (5.7). I also played around on the bunk bed wall (after leading sleepwalking @ .3g). Good place to get some climbing in with relative peace and quiet. And the view from the very top is nice.

Heading back again as soon as I can!

Oh, and the trapps lot was full when I drove by....crammed!

(and all I can add to the thread about the Oops wall is that it is definitely closed).
