BTW, I'm sure Sam's Point is South, but I have no idea where. I'd like to go there, but I'm a bit turned off by the descriptions about how it used to be developed.

Have no fear, the people that manage Sam's Point are doing their best to make up for past sins with (IMO) overly strict land use regulations. No hiking here, no touching things there. No climbing anywhere. Never mind the concrete structures all around, let's pretend this is a wilderness - look but don't touch.

Rant off.

...oh and don't forget the eighty bazillion dollar visitor center that they erected in the parking lot...

...but they don't have enough $$ to pay someone to roam the trails during peak times and teach people why it is bad to throw the empty water bottle into the shrubs...

...and lets not forget that the water bottle (or powerade) was purchased from the vending machine at said visitors center!

Rock Rift!

Fun to hike to and an enjoyable scramble! Zaidee's Bower is nice too for the fauna.

6 or 7, I live 3 hours away, so usually I climb when I am up.

Northwest?
