I don't see the forecast, just a number e.g. 4.00

Yeah. I saw that too. Every once in a while, the weather service comes up with a new way to present their page. If they do it long enough, I go back into my code and update it to handle the new format. I was just too lazy this week to play with it. If it's still not working, I'll fix it.

BTW, can you call the weather service a service, when their forecasts are so consistently wrong?

uuuuugh. It's all these stupid warnings they're putting in ("Flood Watch", "Hazardous Weather Forcast") that screws things up. They might as well put in the friggin' terror alert level, as it's about as helpful.

I'm not sure if service necessarily denotes a level of quality (you'd have to qualify it with "good" or "bad" or some other adjective of your choosing) so to answer your question, yes they are probably just manage to avoid any charges of misleading advertising by calling themselves a service.

How about "Weather-inspired Story Telling Service". Perhaps that's what it was originally, and it's just gotten shortened over the years.

Well, I successfully re-taught myself PERL for the 3rd time in this lifetime, and have the weather script running properly again. It will probably take a few day for me to get the hang of the new format that's being used, so just drop me an email if you get a strange display.
