I think we need to have a thread to discuss the best outfits on the hills. Some of my favorites so far this season:

-Onesies. The ladies look oh so sexy in these outfits. Such classic 80's styling and great functionality too. (Tongue firmly planted in cheek.)

-A 50+ year old guy with a bald head dressed to look like an extra from a Jay-Z video. Full-on baggie pants with a dozen or more pockets. Giant leather belt with shiny metal studs, and the puffed out parka with fur-lined hood. All he needed was the gold chain. (And yes, he had a board.)

-A girl my age in an Abbercrappie ski jacket freezing her cute little ass off. Nothing like spending $300 on a jacket that won't keep you warm.

Saw a GUY at Killington this weekend in a purple onesie! My brother and I nearly fell over laughing!

I saw a Polish ski racer at Bellaire. He was 50+ and dressed in a super tight multi colored lycra body suit. It was so tight that his arms and legs looked like sausage (kielbasa) links. I almost needed CPR for that one.

Next time I ski I might have to go true 80s style. Jeans with gaiters and a blue vest with rainbow stripes, mork from ork style. Maybe some goggles worn backward to complete the look.

Friend said they spotted a woman with a Chanel helmet and jacket, I was too far away to see it though.

Saw two young girls at Camelback that were riding in dresses; not fasion dresses but plain, homemade dresses. My thought was they were Hasidic or Muslim, not allowed to wear pants. They looked wet and cold, but like they were having a blast.

Saw a guy at Killington at the top of the park wearing a cowboy hat. Thought he looked ridiculous, but then thought maybe he was just so good it didn't matter, so we watched. Nope, he wiped out big time.

i went to deer valley for the first time on xmas day, and was bummed to not see anyone skiing in mink coats. hopefully next time.

Yes, but how many one-piece Bogner jumpsuits did you see? At anywhere from $1200 - $2200, they kinda fall into mink coat territory, no?

Endured the madness at Keystone and A-basin yesterday. Keystone had lots of Euro-men sporting the onesies. Also saw some (American) dudes wearing Carhart Coveralls.

I can't imagine I'd be a big fan of snowboarding/skiing if my big week to go was the week between x-mas and new year's. It was miserably crowded at both places.

But seriously, from the looks of things at Breck and Keystone this week, onesies seem to be the new fashion for men and women alike. How does something like this happen?

yeah, the front range resorts are insanely crowded in general, but just aren't worth it during festivus. i get angry in utah when i am in a lift line for longer than 3 minutes.

was it good today? i figured it would be heavy and not very fun, so i spent the day working on the plumbing(not very fun). planning on going to alta tomorrow.

the nice thing about mostly skiing early in the morning on weekdays is that i get first chair quite a bit.

Saw a guy at Okemo this weekend ( have seen him before) talked to him on the lift.

I've said it too many times already, but I'll say it again. Age is a state of mind. I took care of a lady today who is 90. Breath sounds clear as a bell. Oxygen sats of 95% on room air. She came in because she had been feeling weak... For over a year. She was pissed cuz all her docs kept telling here was "Well, you're old." Her response "But I want to play golf, and I don't have the energy."

Well, we found a very slow GI bleed today. Odds are we'll get that fixed and she'll be back to golfing in less than a week. Yay for old people who still rock out! (Except for the Stones' half-time show. That was just creepy.)
