being married doesn't seem so bad so far. i'm still allowed to climb, ski, buy tools, and play poker with my friends. still waiting for the world to come crashing down on me.
back to the original topic, $15 a day to climb at the preserve is outrageous. i never minded the day pass fee when it was reasonable(and even subsidized eddie's day pass a couple of times), but $15 seems like more than double what i used to pay when i lived out there(memory is a bit hazy, but wasn't it $6 in the late 90s?). i imagine the increase will be used to pay for armed guards for the employees collecting the fees.
i love the climbing at the gunks, but boy am i glad that we rarely have to deal with that kind of extortion out west. hell, even the mormon church lets you climb on most of their land for no fee.
