Nuptuals? YOU??!!?!?!?!!!!

Finally gonna buy the cow after getting the milk for free for all these many years, eh?

Congrats in advance. I'm sure she's glad that you're finally getting married, since she'll now be eligible for your Social Security benefits (which start like what, next year? )

An Irish Reverend?

So, that pretty much puts you on the express elevator straight to HELL as far as the Irish Catholics are concerned, doesn't it?

If you'd like priority booking for said elevator, become a minister and perform some same-sex marriages.

It'll give ya something to do if ya happen to be up in New Paltz, since we KNOW that you don't ever climb anything anymore....

yes, life as I know it will be over.

I've toyed with the idea of a "recreational pre-nup" - one that says I must be allowed a certain minimum number of days for outdoor activities . . .

being married doesn't seem so bad so far. i'm still allowed to climb, ski, buy tools, and play poker with my friends. still waiting for the world to come crashing down on me.

back to the original topic, $15 a day to climb at the preserve is outrageous. i never minded the day pass fee when it was reasonable(and even subsidized eddie's day pass a couple of times), but $15 seems like more than double what i used to pay when i lived out there(memory is a bit hazy, but wasn't it $6 in the late 90s?). i imagine the increase will be used to pay for armed guards for the employees collecting the fees.

i love the climbing at the gunks, but boy am i glad that we rarely have to deal with that kind of extortion out west. hell, even the mormon church lets you climb on most of their land for no fee.

I'd need 120 days/year minimum.
