I'm heading to the Gunks tonight and I'd like to known if the MUA campground
have washroom (or blue box at least )

BTW, will the campground full by 11pm tonight ??

Don't know about others, but the few times I camped at the MUA, I had no problems finding a spot. I suspect it won't start filling up tonight...maybe tomorrow. As for washing, it might be warm enough for a dip in the swimming hole.

No washroom or blue box. You get a porta-potty and fire rings, and that's it. The Visitor Center opens at 9 a.m.; they have spacious bathrooms with large sinks to get your birdbath (but be discreet!!). If you're heading into town for breakfast, Rock & Snow has a nice bathroom as well.

I called them blue box since the ones below the Trapps steel bridge are blue !

there's been one there at least for the past year (though it may not be there in the "off-season," I don't know).

haha! berlin, when you mentioned "blue box" and "washroom," I made a connection between the two. I hope like hell you ain't cleaning yourself up in the "sink" in the blue box!

Okay, since Nerdom brought it up, I have to tell this story:

From time to time I teach an intro to outdoor climbing course for Cornell. I once had a student use one of the porta-potties at the bridge and come out complaining about how the "soap" was nasty. Upon further questioning, I determined that she was not joking... she was, afterall, a freshman from long island who had never even been camping. So, it's true, some people do wash up in the "sink".

That is one of the funniest things I have ever read.
