OK, the last one is kinda hard. Here's another 60's vintage one ya can't miss or you have to turn in yer Preserve pass.
The usual historical notes apply: hammer 'n pins, swami, knickers, no chalk, RD's. Originally, we used to order our RD's (Rene Desmaison) directly from France from Aux Vieux Campeur. The rubber was as hard as the rock and they had a steel shank for stiffness, but the leather was an eighth of an inch thick so the uppers lasted forever. Unfortunately, no one was resoling them at the time.
The price is a bit hard to fathom nowadays; they cost about $15, depending on exchange rates and the judgement of the customs inspector.
Stannard put in all those 5.11's in RD's.
