Hi Everyone - I know this is a longshot, but when a dog goes missing, getting the word spread far and wide, quickly, can make the difference between the animal being reunited with their people or not.
I run a dog walking service, and one of my old clients just emailed me that their dog, Harry, has gone missing. They were on vacation, and Harry was being boarded in Athens, NY (Green County). Apparently, some of the dogs got agitated by something while outside, and got through a fence to go after it. 3 of 4 dogs returned, but not Harry. This happened on Saturday, 6/3, in the evening.
Harry's people have a home in New Paltz, and though I know that Athens is quite far from NP, I have to hope he is trying to find his way back there. Also, that some of you may live in an area that is between Athens and New Paltz, and might possibly have seen Harry. I have asked Harry's mom if she has a photo of him, and if so, I will add that to this post asap. In the interim, here is his description.
Harry is a pretty big dog, maybe 90 pounds or so. He looks like your average German Shephard "mix." But quite beefy. He has a purple tongue. He answers to his name. He can give the impression of being a dog you might be a little intimidated by, but he is absolutely a big muush, and sweet and very gentle. He doesn't bark much, but his sound is a deep "woof." His coat is medium lenght hair, tan legs. He did have a collar with tags on when he went missing. Hopefully they are still on him!
Please forward this post to everyone that you can think of, if you feel inclined. If anyone has any leads, feel free to email me at
Happiegrrrl@aol.com. I will pass the info to Harry's people.
Thank you.
