Lets start with the fact that the tetons are in late July conditions.
We arrived Mon, walked into the medows and gazed onto Irene arete. What a beautiful line! We were rudely awakened from our bivy by rain! What a bummer. that overhanging boulder does not provide that much shelter!
The mountain was socked in by weather so we decided to blow back to SLC.
Once again we were reminded that this is a true alpine expierence. At the car we encountered rangers beginning a search for some over due climbers. they were out all night with no bivy gear. last seen at 13000 feet. i hope the outcome is a positive one.
I might add that i had a miserable night with bivy gear!
next time i will have more time.
