Does anyone here own or have used these skis? I've seen great reviews, but don't know anyone who has tried them out.

I have a pair of all mountain skis (K2 apache crossfires). They are great skis for groomers, however, i don't float as well as I would like in powder when it is above my boots. They also make it a little more difficult to ski switch without a shovel on both ends. I basically want a freeride ski that I can take to the groomers, park, and back country.

Black Diamond Havoc. It's a little on the fat side for a touring ski, though.

I love my havocs as well - i use them for touring and resort skiing. I wish I had an ultralight touring setup to complement them, but when I was touring in mid-thigh deep powder on friday I was glad for the width.

If you wait a year, some of the new skis BD is bringing out ski a whole lot better than what they have had in the past. I've been using some of the prototypes, and i've been very impressed. My havocs are kinda chattery at really high speeds, but the new model havoc fixes that.

Well, i've decided to get two different skis for my quiver. I just ordered some K2 Fujatives, and I'll get some powder skis next season. Thanks to everyone for their input.

In case somebody was looking for some new boards, checkout Evogear they have a winter liquidation on this years models. Some pretty good prices compared to what i've seen in Alaska.
