Ok ok, the top of Chouinard's on Friday morning was a bit... nippy
True, somehow I managed to encounter 'full' conditions at the last section myself... Or is that snow coming from the direction of the camera?

Could the weekend in Keene Valley have been any nicer? 20-25 degrees with bright sunshine?
I don't think LTL could disagree:

yeah yeah yeah...ya'll had a good time in the Adirondacks while I worked. You suck. But guess who got to lead 100' of phat, virgin, grade 4 ice on Monday in the Catskills?? Of course LTL and Dillbag would have rated it 2+ or 3-, but that's only because their muscles are bigger than their brains.
RR
Let's see a pic of this "Grade 4," eh, so we can see for ourselves

You needed crampons? I lost my right one 2/3 the way up.
Well, duh- anyone could climb it with 2 tools and one crampon. 2 tools and no crampons would have been about the same difficulty as 2 crampons and no tools.

The pictures look great, but please tell me the red coated gentleman is not anchored off that dead looking little white birch! Ok, I'm jealous.

That "red coated gentleman" is what a dillbag looks like from afar.
The white birch is not dead. The white birch is (part of) the classic anchor at the top of RBF. Not that one needs an anchor. If one falls from there, one deserves to fall.

The picture of d-elvis was taken two days after the one of Molly at the top of RBFalls. While Dennis may claim a block of ice hit him in the nose, the real cause was his saying something insensitive (the words "fat, nearsighted weakling" come to mind), and I had to take him down a peg. I went to punch him, but I forgot to put down the ice tool I had in my hand at the moment.

Better weather then I had on Friday..... got to the trailhead and it was -10F, but it warmed up to 5F with a 25 to 35mph wind and the snow was being blown upwards. made it fun to do this climb.
