For a journalist, you'd think she would get her terminology straight before we writes about it in an article. Some climbers added comments after her article to straighten her out.

As I wrote over on rc.noob in a similar thread:

It would appear that a lot of people are under the mistaken impression that Katie Couric is a journalist or reporter or something. She's a former morning show host who now has the job of news reader at a competing network. I kinda doubt she even writes her own blog, hence the glaring inaccuracies of her day of climbing. It was likely written by a staffer who knows even less about climbing than Couric.
