Still no guesses on this Wyoming back-country climb!

As a further hint, here is a shot taken from the approach to the route, looking away form the peak the route is on.

mwworking: "I'll guess Pingora looking at Wolfs Head."

Well, if you know where to look, Pingora and Wolf's Head are in this picture, which eliminates them from possible the sites of this climb.

not having ever climbed this wind river range route i'll have to cheat to get the answer (by looking at a map) -- i've always wanted to climb steeple peak, but i don't think there's that kind of dihedral -- so i'll have to guess that it's a route on haystack

The names on Haystack being as prosaic as they are, I'll give Jeff the prize for identifying the peak. The route in question didn't have a name when I did it, and now it is one of the various dihedrals in Kelsey's guide.

It's all too easy to research the above photo via its URL (Mt. St. Helens.)

Hottest isn't kidding - IR images suggest that the surface of the slab is clocking in at roughly 200C!!!!!!

How long is your sticky rubber gonna last on that baby?!?!?!!?

Not hard to guess, but historically interesting: Note the hammer (pre-nuts 'n cams), RD's, swami, and absence of chalk. Taken about 40 years ago...
