Hopefully no one will lynch me for mentioning this again, but this is just to report that my partner and I used the ACR during our recent Yosemite trip.

It rigged fast, appeared to equalize as advertised and seemed secure. Use included semi-hanging positions. Obviously, there were also times when it wasn't appropriate and wasn't deployed. (Having the extra piece of cord was also handy a number of times for rigging on trees, etc.)

No one died. On the other hand, no one fell on the anchor either.

How well did it work in its name-related application?

Just a friendly reminder from your neighborhood ER Nurse: When choosing c--k rings, you must weigh the enhanced functionality of a stronger material like stainless steel against the difficulty one may encounter de-deploying the device. For this reason, I highly recommend durable plastic materials such as latex which appear to work just as well but can be removed at home without the use of narcotics, power tools, and a team of medical professionals.

A cheapskate would just use a rubber band.

is USE of any of those things actually necessary? just mentioning them to the patient should cause sufficient shrinkage to make removal easy, no?
