It's sorta interesting that this administration is opting for a mix of their normal supply-side approach (e.g., corporate tax breaks in the hope that will stimulate companies to hire people) (it works a little, but it's never close to 1-1) with a demand-side program, i.e., checks for slobs like me!
Spending your check puts money in other people's pockets, who in turn spend it and therefore put it in other people's pockets... The rule of thumb is there is a factor five multiplier throughout the economy for a stimulus like that.
I think they want us to buy "consumer durables" like refrigerators, but I already have one. I think cams qualify as a consumer durable. Let the good times roll!
