So, I'm just thinking about climbing in the summer and thumbing through guide books...and I am intriqued by the climb Little finger on Roger's rock off Lake George. It looks pretty cool. Anybody climb it? Slab climb? Number of pitches? Protection? Likely to find people on it? Time it takes to get to the climb? I like the idea of paddling to it and back.

Search the archives. I think there was a discussion about this last year.

Rogers Rock is a total hoot (my first lead ever). Canoe for 20-30 minutes, climb for several hours, rap down and jump in the lake.

Little Finger follows a crack system for five? pitches. Plenty of pro opportunities (take extra nuts, small to medium). Definitely a possibility of other people being on it. If it's sunny, plan to roast.

Everything at RR is a slab climb. 3 pitches. Fairly well protected. You don't need a lot of gear. Two raps (using 2 ropes). Popular but not too crowded. About 10 - 15 minutes to paddle there - not that far from the launch site. Lots of fun.
