GCC Slide Show Benefit with Michael Kodas
The GCC is hosting a benefit talk and slide show by Michael Kodas, the author of High Crimes - The Fate of Everest in the age of Greed, a narrative look at how big money and big egos are drawing crime and malfeasance to Mount Everest.
High Crimes is a shocking expose of the dark underside of Everest: people stepping over dying climbers on their way up; unscrupulous con men who sell faulty oxygen tanks that leave climbers without air when their lives depend on it; drugs and prostitution in Base Camp; and people all but murdered in the cutthroat race to get to the top. See

This benefit show has an admission cost of $10 as a donation to raise money for the Mohonk Preserve Rescue Fund to purchase new rescue equipment. The show starts at 7:00pm at the Mohonk Preserve Visitor's Center, 3197 Route 44/55, Gardiner, NY.
