yeah, you would find the castle point loop at minne perhaps a good workout but not much for doing some freeheel turns, but another thing comes to mind.
if you ski the main road at the former Awosting Reserve (now part of minne,) it's a LONG uphill you skin up and then get your jollies on the way down. park car at gate and go from there.
you need good snow cover, so we might need another good storm to make it really doable.
you can reach it via N mountain road in gardiner if you approach from the deli go past shaft road then take the next right past shaft and kind of follow your nose. pm for direction if interested...

I've just learned of this route as well. A co-worker was out doing laps on it this past weekend skinning and skiing. Sounds like just the ticket for an afternoon workout. But, it faces the sun for most of the day, today's warmth could just glaze it over and it would probably need some freshies to fill in.
Look for Aumick Rd in the Town of Shawangunk. RC

Afix, scroll SW to Rutsonville. You're looking for Aumick RD off of Decker. RC

Ended up a Minnewaska, as I thought the road may have been a bit melted out.

What a great day. Put on alot of miles. Lapped that "telemark" hill a whole bunch.

Definately going back to tat "other" spot w/ more snow.

Thanks again for the recomendations!
