Early Sunday afternoon a bus going downhill was stuck on the hairpin for at least an hour. It looked like it took the turn too tight, made about 2/3rds of the turn, and was stopped with its front end blocking a substantial part of the uphill lane.

Does anyone know exactly why it was stuck? Did the front/back end dig in?

We saw the traffic jam from the top of the Nears but couldn't see what was causing it. If that was an hour-long traffic jam, then that road sure doesn't get much traffic.

A bus got stuck like that during the height of the season this fall..... Quite the backlog of traffic(past the steel bridge).
