I thought I was starting City Lights because I was looking for a triangular pod just above a crux at 15 feet, and seemingly I found that. The crux felt WAY harder than 5.7 so after flailing for a while thinking that there was some trick I missed I decided to move right to Frogs Head. I moved RIGHT about 10 feet and lo, another triangular pod at 15 feet appears. Having found city lights it felt much more like 5.7 though not easy, per se.
My question is what the hell was I on (which route) before? The guidebook doesnt mention a low crux where I found one-- it started on top of a small block beneath a small overhanging arch. A thin seam leading up to the triangular pod was pretty impossible to protect and I was pretty wigged because if I blew it coming over the little arch I was anticipating at least one broken ankle or shin.
Any help you all could give me with this would be appreciated. I know a gunks 9 is the real deal so I am not doubting that this could be PD, just surprised that I had so much trouble outside the crux.
