On the other hand, if they would have held up under the test, it still wouldn't satisfy me at this point. I'd need to see maybe a hundred random cams from that era pull tested with
all being in an accepteble range for me
personally to feel confident about them. As I mentioned earlier, I only had one light, veritable toprope, fall while leading on the red. And I've used all of them in plenty of toprope anchors. The brazing was clearly evident where the cables attach. They are probably solid cams.
One thing I'm curious about are whether there are any real world accounts of these cams breaking when properly placed. I don't mean inverting, but bent or broken axles or cable breaks.
Regardless, I think I'm on to Metolius Master Cams as replacements for my Aliens.
