Smike, I think you missed out on the stuff last week. In short: based on previous discussions and discussions in the Admin forum, the site owners of MP decided that a decent compromise would be to post the site, a description that includes the history and the debate, and allow photos, but not routes, to be posted.
The threads now on MP are not a "can we? should we?" investigation, as you say, because a) the decision had already been made, and b) no one in their right mind expects agreement on this issue.
In terms of possible conflicts between my personal feelings and my actions as an Admin: I wrote about those extensively in the thread. I followed the compromise that had been made, instead of doing what I think should be done (for instance, I could have, but did not, lift Jim's pictures to post).
I do appreciate that you're trying not to be too personal. Dana is right-on in that, despite quite a disgusting pigpile, I've *tried* to keep things civil, which is what I meant by taking the higher road on MP. It's interesting to note that people who know me are civil, and those who don't pile it on. It seems like you're just catching up to speed on this latest iteration, so I understand where that got mixed up.
I decided not to call Hank for "clarification" for several reasons, but (long paragraph erased) it's moot now, and I'm tired. Next time.

Smike, Dana, Rob: I need some input on P38 as an admin. The person who posted the route in the first place noted it as PG-13. In cases where I'm qualified (eg, Outsiders), I've removed the PG-13 notation because it appears on the long list and might put off someone who would otherwise be interested. I would like some input from 5.10 leaders on this; I'm inclined to remove the PG-13 and just add "the 5.10 is well protected; the 5.8 above is difficult to protect very well". Please let me know, here or on MP, what you think.
