Linguistic thread drift continued:
It seems Rob's become so focused on his golf game that all he sees in "bogeyman" is a reminder of bad times on the links. But that's the spelling of terrorizing demons that I've been accustomed to since first seeing Laurel and Hardy's Babes in Toyland (Not in the original screening in theaters, but on an early TV airing.) Boogey men didn't show up until the 70's, as epitomized by KC and the Sunshine Band.
On to "amorphous embodiment". I like that. Sort of a shape-shifter metaphor. Vaguely defined, but corporal. No problem for me.
Not like I have with some of the routes I'm saving for an onsight. But at least now I know to do them without recourse to rope-hanging, gear tugging behavior. At least if my belayer or RG can see me.
