i am looking for a partner to ice climb with in the new paltz/catskills area. i have boots and crampons and accumulating rest of the gear. am new to ice but have been rock climbing for a number of years. my schedule is open for the next couple of weeks if you want to get out. totally down to follow or top rope.

Gave Broken Hammer a shot yesterday. It had an almost continuous line of ice from the GT ledge down to the ground. Thick enough to take screws in many places. Unfortunately We were a day late and the sun yesterday and the day before delaminated everything. Couldn't trust any stick. A screw would have pulled the whole piece of ice off the wall, and I took down 3/4 of the ice as I climbed past it. I got halfway through the crux and decided it wasn't worth getting hurt, and we traversed off right to the rap tree. A few days of cold, cloudy weather wiull bring it back I think.
