Since there is no snow in the Gunks & Catskills, I thought I'd mention that the snow in the Adirondacks is really nice.

Did a three-day backpacking last weekend from Upper Works to Wallface with a full day of snowshoeing in between the entry/exit days and there was plenty of snow.

Pretty, too. Here are some photos on Facebook.

Mim, thanks for sharing. There is lots of wonderful ski or snowshoe touring to do out beyond Lake Henderson. Depending on snow cover the Cold River Loop in either direction offers from two to four days of ski touring mostly on old woods roads and leantos at all the right places. Enjoy the return of winter. Must have been nice before the rain. Snow depth is down to 12" at Lake Colden, was at 26" before the thaw. Whiteface reporting only 2" post-thaw.

Smuggs is now the place to go for post-rain snowfall. I'm hoping to explore a gully or two this weekend.
