In context, what I said was "And in comparison to other brassies/RPs - the DMM IMPs are harder, and won't shear as easily."

How do I know that? Well, I suppose I don't really. They have a higher rated spec than, say RP's, for a given size, but that may simply be based on a stronger wire, or a stronger solder.
