I read through the U Stem stuff last night actually. That stuff doesnt really concern me. Different design in a different era with different standards. Thanks for the link and your work nonetheless!! The good news is there's no evidence to doubt BD China and nothing online about failures, though God knows I can find pages on on CCH.

It's curious logic to keep posting to a thread you claim you want to see die.

If we were in a movie and this thread was a woman, RR would just now realize that he is really in love.

Why bother with poison if you're going for the heart?

Redundancy. And, if the poison is quick-acting, equalization.

I don't doubt Aric's findings one bit, but I don't remember hearing about a U-Stem Camalots being damaged on anything less than a big fall. In fact the common complaint about was that their thin hard aluminum cams did not provide did not always provide enough friction and could pull easier than competing brands at the time. (Hence the first wide soft cam lobes on the original single stem Camalots.) Knowing what Aric found now makes me wonder if the lack of friction kept their destruction from being more common.

"It's curious logic to keep posting to a thread you claim you want to see die."

Realizing his utter failure in eliminating the target, the Thread Assasin decides to take the only honorbale way out. He turns the poison tipped dagger upon himself. Oh cruel world!

The Thread Assasin lies expired on the cold stone of the earth. A smile painted across his face, knowing that at least in the eternal blackness that is death there will be no discussion of pull testing results.

Blackness of death? Bwahahaahahaha. Your personal hell will consist of the daily delivery of a truck load of assorted cams. You must perform the pull-testing, analyze the data, post to gunks.hell and then moderate the extensive comment thread for the embattled souls whose punishment is to squabble pointlessly until Judgment Day. Then the whole thing repeats. Actually that sounds familiar.

Shoulda been a better person, Thread.

The Thread Assasin lives to kill threads. Paradoxically, there would be nothing to live for if the Thread Assasin was actually successful. It follows that incompetence in his chosen role is the only life-affirming option.

Long live the Thread Assasin!
