Now, before any of you out-a-work techies/construction workers with tech skills get too excited.....
It's NOT a high $$ job. I actually am just looking for a person who can lay down the basics of a Wordpress(or other) website shell that I can add the content to. Hope that makes sense, but if not, I further add:
The problem, is that everyone says making a website with Wordpress is "really simple!" Well, not for me, it ain't. I just Do.Not get it. I have tied. Several times.
- I have a domain(
http://www.climbaddictdesigns.com) registered.
- I have hosting(with Bluehost.com)
- I have tried, and I tried, and I tried, tried, tried tried, tried(to create WP website), but I can't get me no satisfaction. I follow the directions, and get lost. Repeatedly.
I am somewhat familiar with web and html crap, and have Jpegs with the various logos and such I use all over the place. I have a color theme, and know the categories(pages) I want. They are:
- Home
- Shop (link to existing online store)
- Secondary Shop Page (opens to page which explains the existing secondary shop, with a "click here to go there" button)
- Blog (links to existing blog)
- About (do not yet have copy, but as you can see, I suffer from logorrhea, so that shouldn't be much trouble)
- Contact(with link to existing email address)
- Twitter and Facebook Icons(which link to existing profiles on same)
The site in itself will not have e-commerce. It would link to Print-in-demand sites which handle all those aspects.
I assume I would need to supply some items up front for you to lay in place - the general logo, colors, a sketch of layout concept....
If someone can lay down the basic WP template with those pages in place, I believe I *should* be able to fill them in with the content.
BUT! I am willing to listen to reason. I also know that people often want a website on the cheap, and don't want to pay for the work that is involved. I do hope I am not coming off as one of those types - I DO need it on the cheap, but I also believe that this set up does allow me to do most of the work. I'm not looking to take advantage of someone and drag them down with add-ons after they've agreed to one thing, but at this stage I don't have the income to pay for a multi-thousand dollar site, nor do I need one(nor does the business support one... sob, sob!).
So - If anyone is interested in this, and would like to give it a go, please contact me through the PM thing here within the forum with a general idea as to what you think would be needed, what you would like to have in compensation, and/or any questions you need an answer to decide if you have interest.
Thank you.
