I'd be happy to be enlightened about single raps from the top with double 60's; I only know High E, Arrow & Limelight, Credibility Gap, and Madame G's. ~ beau

From Shockley's I always head (climber's) left to the bolted rappel above Calisthenic and Ribs. Always nice to make it down in one shot versus three short rappels.

You can do a single rap (with two ropes!!) from any route that ends at the level of the GT ledge, basically.
That's where the Madame G rap is. And the whole Son of Easy O/ City Lights/ Frog's Head wall. And the Arrow wall. And Ursula and Bonnie's and Double Crack. And Airy Aria, if you're descending from the GT ledge and not the top.
For any route that goes all the way to the top of the cliff, you need more than one rap. Unless I'm mistaken, High E is one of those routes, and you cannot make it all the way down in one rap. Also, regarding the Ribs rap, I've done this in one rap with two ropes several times, but I always head down skier's right through a notch towards the bottom so that the rap ends around the corner and uphill from Ribs. I've never been sure the rap would quite reach the bottom of Ribs.

Are you a nighttime sport rappeller or something? bwaha. -Nate

Ped might be referring to the Fat City rappel. Wire cable sling high in a tree. Free-hanging virtually to the ground.

I think they can all be done as a single rap, depending on whether you want to ride the rope all the way down or try a little free air time :-)

The gully to the right of High E definitely goes with double 60's requiring, if I remember, a downclimb of less than 10 feet. This may not always be the best option because the gully is low angle and the ropes.... Went simul down that in a thunderstorm each managing a rope; got both parties off real quick!

You can definitely do High E in one rap with two 60s except I'll throw in a warning to watch the end of the rope because I did once have a supposed 60 that came up 15 feet short. Most of them make it though.

I'll second this, you can rap High E with two "genuine" 60's but remember that ropes shrink and you may have to watch carefully at the bottom. That's how we realised that one of our 60m ropes had woefully shrunk!

I've heard of this shrinkage but have (ahem) no personal experience with said problem. Stop sniggering, Browndog.
