This race was my first trail race ever so I am looking forward to running it again. Anyone else here going? It starts at 09:00, early enough to run the race, refuel with some great chilli and still have time for climbing.

I hope everyone enjoyed the race. It was good to see you, John, and hope those cramping issues went away. Mim, I hope you had a good time too. Conditions were so comfortable for running, much cooler than it was on Saturday where I climbed in the shade as much as possible.

Cutting 20 minutes off is amazing, Corinne, wow! John good to hear you had a better last 4 miles then. I completely missed seeing mile markers for 6 and 7 - maybe I had my head down, although I was anxious to see them.

In honor of you hardcore runners, I slogged a slow 4 mile road run yesterday. Road, you say?! Sputter! Still, mileage is mileage and it is good to run. I just find trails are much easier on my body. I must add that after the race I ran back to the Trapps and had the pleasure of climbing with Timbo for the first time.

Completed the race and all of my goals! It was REALLY HARD for me... the last two miles almost did me in...
My goals were: 1) not to re-injure my Achille's tendon 2) Keep a steady pace 3) Run, not walk, the entire race (I did however really really slowed down on the last hill for the last 10 yards). 4) Finish the race 5 Do the race in 2 hours or less (did 1h40)
If I can keep on running, I would love to do next year's race!

I must add that after the race I ran back to the Trapps and had the pleasure of climbing with Timbo for the first time. AMAZING!!!!!!! I could barely move thereafter - I had to do some house chores and once that was done, I took a bubble bath and watched a movie! You're in SHAPE girl!

Mim congrats on surpassing all your goals and running so fast. That last hill was tough, I might as well have been hiking it. As for upcoming races, there is the lovely 20K race 'After the Leaves Have Fallen' in Minnewaska on November 14. It is run on carriage trails and is very well organized. After the leaves have fallen

What route does the race take? And what's the distance? Looks rather fun from the photos...'

Dillbag, Pfalz Point is a nice 10-mile loop starting/finishing at Spring Farm. The course winds around woods roads and single track, and has plenty of hills. Along the way it crosses the golf course and passes by Bonticue. The Mohonk Preserve website has the full details. Keep it in mind for next year.
