BITD we were asked for old neck ties to be donated to the first aid/litter box to be used for tying the injured into the litter. Having way too many already, my wife has presented me with many more from her deceased father's closet. Is there still a use for these? If so, should I throw them in the box or drop them somewhere else? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks in advance.

I don't think that is a commonly accepted practice anymore Chip. Practical, yes, but not exactly professional looking anymore. These day they use pretty standard webbing lengths for either internal or external lashing, and fixed a spider harness for the litter.

I'd like to see someone climb Three Pines with a rope made out of tied together neck ties. That would be awesome!!!

BITD, the ties were used to secure splints. I once saw an injured climber go by on the back of Thom's jeep with a bright polka dot tie of mine. One ugly tie serving a better cause.
