In the classroom when he reads his grade of C+ he says it for #3, then Miss Shields and his Mom taunt him and say it twice for 4 and 5.

Santa doesn't count, he adds the word kid at the end of the sentence.

So you got the number right, but no Santa.

Obviously you have read the book, because Helen and Esther janes last names are never mentioned. The restaurant....that's a good one! I'll have to cheat and watch that section again.

You're right about Shep's being the voiceover narrator. I don't recall seeing him as a lamp ogler. What you missed is the occasion where he was seen and heard at the same time as an ordinary bit part player. Can you recall that? A hint: he's fat.

I'm pretty sure he was in both scenes, the 2nd of which I won't say since I read it somewhere.

The soap is Lifebuoy, not Pamolive. After hearing it was "soap poisoning", his dad says "I told you not to use the lifebuoy". He says nice things about Palmolive (it's not his favorite though).
