Just as an FYI, I spoke to one of the rangers yesterday (GORGEOUS day for climbing, by the way) and he said that they're hoping to reduce the closure area soon. The raptors are still going through their site selection process. Once they pick a site and begin nesting, they *should* be able to open up a nice portion of those routes.
Good to hear, I assumed they were just being lazy and didn't know exactly where the Peregrines were nesting (from lack of investigation) and just closed a bunch to be on the 'safe' side. At least this is just a precautionary closure and many of the routes will be opened sooner than later.
There's a Raven's nest at the top of Three Pines (pitch 2). It doesn't seem to care much that we're there, which makes sense since it picked a site at the top of a popular route.
Lots of raven vs peregrine action this past weekend.
