I was unable to make the meeting but did get some feedback from other attendees.

There is a group of well organized neighbors who were represented at the Gardiner Town Board meeting by a lawyer. The jist is the campground neighbors want the PIPC, Mohonk Preserve, and American Alpine Club to have to follow the new town zoning law in their development of the proposed campground.

It doesn't seem as though the new campground will be built any time soon.

Seems odd that they would open up a campground on the south side of 299. Why make people cross a major road? It was equally odd when they closed the north side of the multiple use campground, again making users traverse a major road(299).

Well at least the town of Gardiner is equally applying (or so it seems) its unfair zoning laws for both its residences and PIPC and MP.

Gardiner is close to being the most unfriendly municipalities to deal with and live under. That approached has worked for townships here in Eastern PA, but the one exception with Gardiner is the mass exitos of real tax paying residence will ultimately bit them in the ass big time. Thats also a huge NY state issue as well.
