Yup. Pretty cool out there right now!

There are a couple trees down alongside the river, one which is laid out JUST upstream of the bridge. Closer to the road is a sad one - two trees uprooted and the pretty moss beds around their bases too. They are in a section that people would use to go wade into the stream where the foliage opens up - if you were standing at the sign by the barn, the downed trees would be about 20 feet east, at the river edge. Seems bridge suffered no damage from what I could see. Water crested about 18 inches below(in my estimate, which may be innacurate).

Yeah - it was pretty cool!

For those who don't recognize where the photo is... It is the Split Rock swimming hole. Photographed from the bridge, looking to the northwest.

The waterfall location is the lower right corner, and you can see the west side of the "channel" or rock. If you look just left of the small green tree, you can see the small boulder that sits atop the formation.

Here are some more:

From the bridge, looking north

High water!

#1 Wave cresting over rock(bridge location is the in dark background)

#2 Same wave continuing to crest over rock. It was so impressive to see the water rushing through, with waves crashing over this rock(the one shown in the original posts photo, located on the west side of the channel, where people sunbathe and picnic)

West Side of bridge, show the water level rose enough to cover parts of meadow and flood into this section

I swam in it a day later, and although it didn't look like this anymore, the water was definitively the highest (and fastest) I had ever seen it.

We used to have the "earliest in" bet every year and I doubt it was spring thaw temps, but I also expect it was a bit cool. You must be a tough cookie, Mim.
