well, more water got added today....It stormed hard all last night, and I visited Spit Rock early today. It was almost as high as from last week, and possibly even higher!
Last week, I saw the entire east side of channel was covered with water, and running off the end into the lagoon section. But this morning, the east side was POURING - HARD - over into the lagoon. It was a powerful waterfall in itself!
On the west side, the lagoon level is up covering where the grapes are. The flat "patio" of rock at the lagoon is underwater by maybe a foot(I estimate).
The only thing that was "less" than last week was that there was no flooding across the carriage road just west of the bridge, which there was last week. But, I wonder if this is due to having some of the debris cleared away that had piled up just south of the bridge...
It stopped raining(hard) about 8am, so by now the level is probably back down, but I can tell you that it is really a spectacular sight to have the entire rock "picnicing area" submerged with aggressively running water. Add the morning mist and it is really stellar!
