Six years, and 285 pages of "Guess The Route" and it looks as if there have been only a few occasions upon which folks posted photos of routes from beyond the Gunks?

Maybe doing so is bucking the trend.

I suppose one of the reasons this thread is so popular, is that it appeals to the larger audience of Gunks climbers here and beyond, wether they have climbed the route or not. The thread offers fine photos, some occasional history, and generally has no politics, ranting, flames, etc.

To broaden the challenge to identifying routes beyond the Gunks would lessen the size of the audience, and has already created some minor dissent.

Dissent is certainly not a bad thing, but this thread has been fairly free of it, which is a good thing.

well ... I am sorry for that ... I will try as hard as I can to contain myself for the sake of gunks.com and play by the ... rules ... from now on.

However, let me point out that it is not entirely my fault I am here. I was trying to post about bolts and drkodos popped in and said "same as it ever was" a million times along with some other mumbojumbo that you could take so many ways it was impossible to interpret ... and this was in the middle of my anti-spam war! So ... I looked his posting habits and followed him over here to his house ... like a bedbug.
