That's an issue I was wondering about. (Not sure how you tell when it's the glacier versus when it's climbers).

A related question is whether the slippery surface just off the ground on the direct start to Black Fly (a.k.a. Nice Crack Climb) is the result of dirty climbing shoes or just high quartz content in the rock.

Don't foget another polishing culprit: water.

Did Drunkard's Delight today (on February 1!!) and my, those first footholds (and/or sucker handholds) are really slick and polished. Adds to the tension on that low traversing crux.

Nice seth.. i was a wimp and brought my small crashpad with me for that route wink i don't remember the feet being all that bad but it's been a few months and i was only concentrating on getting to the freaking jug
