My first thought was Roseland.

Hell of a lead to do on pitons. I led it on a day when I was mostly clipping other people's gear (placed by Julie S-L for another party who was having trouble, they had already given up and pulled their rope so I offered to have our party clean it for them.) And I still got pretty damn pumped. Maybe because I stopped to place an extra cam in the middle of the crux traverse, but still.

To make things even sillier, they ran off before we could give them their gear, which amounted to several pieces.

RG: Horseman ??

Seems to me the climber is on TR with the rope coming down from the left, which doesn't fit any of the guesses so far. It does look naggingly familiar.

Looks awfully red for Horseman, and for much of the Gunks for that matter.

The rope comming from the left would be correct on that climb from the belay looking around the corner. There are lots Gunks corner climbs like that, but again most are not that red.

??? I woud have guessed the red area.

Mike Rawdon gets the prize for this one; it's Alphonse from the belay almost no one does any more. Also recognized by Dick Williams, but why are we not surprised by that. The pic is overly red, and that's after I toned down the red in Photoshop. The slide itself is reddish, and the hue got enhanced in the scanning process.

OK Lisa, since you have a thing for old stuff, here's another 60's vintage shot to keep you up at nights. This one's gonna be hard to guess because the rock is so generic.

Damn, that photo's so old it's almost in black-and-white. And not because it is taken in winter.

All those bits of grass and shrubs must be fully grown trees by now.

Ok enough teasing about age - I should live so long. Time to start being stumped again.....
