This trail has a little bit of scrambling on it. It is good.
There are a couple of other hikes in NJ that I have done that I really enjoyed, but, I don't have the hike NJ book with me right now.
Ricketts Glen State Park, in PA, has an absolutely outstanding hike that passes by 22 waterfalls during the loop, it is really nice. That's about a 3 hour drive from you.
The NJ Pine Barrens offers a unique out and back hike from Carranza to Apple Pie Hill. There is a fire tower on Apple Pie Hill and from the tower you look out into an endless sea of pines, it's almost surreal.
Scrambling you say....then once they dry up, you would be stupid to not take a trip to the dacks and do the Eagle Slide and/or the Trap Dike. Scrambling at its finest
