Have done all the variations for Nutcracker (have brought several people up the route so I have done it maybe 7 times). The 5.8 variation I think (IMHO) is better then the 5.9 variation. The 5.10a variation is the best if you are comfortable on 5.10a slab climbing. (the .10a slab variation not listed on the supertopo but is between the 5.9 and the 5.8 variations. )

thanks chas.

looking at the supertopo was a bit confusing sine it seems like there is stuff going every which way.

since i plan on hitting up most of the stuff at manure pile, where exactly does Cs concerto go? is that just the first pitch, from the topo it looks lik eit just joins up with either after 7 or nutcracker depending on which way you traverse

You can set up the 10a on TR too. I did that and it was an incredibly good climb! I started up it twice on lead but got scared off by the cheese grater fall.
