With Hinchey's pending retirement, our district has been erased. I like Hinchey a lot, but his district is a poster-child of gerrymandering.

I'll nominate the former 20th district as the biggest abomination. It's a long stringbean stretching from Poughkeepsie to Lake Placid.

My main reason for posting this is to contrast the present districts with the far superior federal court-determined set. The !@#$%^ state legislature is the least suitable body to make these. But, of course, that body makes our tangled state legislative districts.
