Got out for a few hours today, things are good and getting better. Over/Undercliff have a few scratchy spots, as does Old Minnewaska. Oakwood, Forest Drive, and Long/Short Woodland are good.

Just got back from a moonlit ski, there's still good coverage everywhere! Go out early on Friday, this stuff is going to get waterlogged by lunch, and then the weekend rain is gonna wash it away.

It's all gone until the next round of snow. There are a few patches here and there, but not what I'd call skiable.

Any info on current conditions at the MP? Groomed, not, parking lots cleared??

Things are pretty good, but there's a few scratchy spots. Not as windblown as expected, but you still wouldn't want to bring a new pair of skis out.

Undercliff: little pedestrian traffic, ski trail broke out all the way to Boxcar Boulder. Basic snowmobile track from there to Rhododendron Bridge.

Overcliff: groomed, lots of traffic.

Old Minnewaska, Laurel Ledge, Humpty Dumpty, Short Woodland, Lakeshore: groomed, enjoy the solitude.

None of the groomed carriage roads are tracked for classic skiing.

Get after it before Sunday's warm precip wrecks this stuff.

Out to the southern leg of the Northville Placid Trail yesterday. Good coverage to about two feet deep with 7 inches of freshies on top. This is just down the road west of Lapland Lake, so condtions at Lapland should be stellar as well.

Ski partners with us mentioned Trapps Carriage road from Trapps Bridge to Minnewaska as being a little boney, so we were quite happy to be where we were.

We got just enough yesterday to make it do-able if you want to push it and get out...or wait for the mother load tomorrow.

Local Gunks conditions are still offering up stellar skiing, in the track and out. Fun, fun, fun. More snow coming tomorrow to freshen up the conditions.

we got out both days last weekend, on Saturday we skied castle point at minne which was fantastic. nary a kernel of gravel to be seen on that trail the whole way! Sunday was time for Mohonk, starting Overcliff and on to old minnewaska trail, wonderful grooming everywhere. this was all tracked as well whereas minne was not but both were really nicely rolled. hoping for more of the same this weekend!

Lots of snow heading in from Pine Rd to the Duck Pond area today. No sign of grooming, but we headed up into the glades for some tree runs and such. Deep, wet and exhaustingly heavy glop by noon time.

Re: 2013-2014 xc ski reports - 02/25/14 06:16 PM

stuff is fat right now, especially for skating! some trails can be icy in the morning so wait until afternoon if you are skiing classical. Minnewaska has been doing an outstanding job grooming but we wish they would groom Millbrook like they used to... it's been a mixed bag at Mohonk since the storms various trails drifted tons and groomers could not get through, also there are more walkers destroying the trails at Mohonk. I have not been to the golf course / spring farm trails but suspect they are very good though. anyone else got beta on that?!?

The Mohonk grooming stopped with the Mtn House closing but pick up again after. The word is that they will groom again for the weekend crowd.
