Some of those look a wee bit steep but all of them will be awesome!

That new "root" added to Bennie's looks as if it comes nearly off the summit. And, now a much longer one right of Wright's Wings! At least something good came of all this destruction. Now, will be able to drive up there in four months? That remains to be seen. The Catskills may be a done deal this season due to massive blowdowns, time to hit the road this season.

And all the new slides come down so much further, most or all the way to John's Brook! I think the Upper Wolfjaw slide must cross the trail, or what's left of the trail that goes up btw. upper & lower.

I was in Lake Placid having breakfast this morning, and a large group of hikers seated beside us were discussing where to park, and how to approach the new slides in JBV. They were hot to get in and "name a slide". Which a week later is probably a moot point already. New routes really sets the stoke factor on high.

Recently an experienced hiker lost their life on Trap Dyke, seems the recent storms have altered many of the pre existing slides.

The accident involved a group of college students. The deceased was reaching to help another party member when he slipped, lost his footing and fell from the crux section of the route at the second waterfall. Locals have advised that the recent storms have not altered the crux sections of the route.
