Gear Rental in the 'Daks

My friend and I are planning on going up to the High Peaks area next month to tramp around for a couple of days and we need to rent some gear (boots, crampons, ice axe, and snowshoes). Does anyone know a place around there (Keene, Lake Placid) where you can rent that kind of gear? Thanks!

I would imagine that the Mountaineer in Keene would be able to hook you up. If not, you can always rent from an REI before you leave. Strat might have a better idea about this.

I'm not sure about the ice axe, but the mountaineer has all the other items on your list.

I'm not so sure the mountaineer rents any gear.
im pretty sure the only place to rent is rock and snow in newpaltz, exit 18 on your way up.
dont forget the taco shack.

you can rent snowshoes or skis at the loj. i don't know about ice gear, i don't think so.

you can definately rent plastic boots, crampons, and snow shoes at the mountaineer in keene valley. i dont know if you can rent axes or not. give them a call to see. you can also rent gear at rock and snow (i was told they are now renting scarpa leather boots) or eastern mountain sports, but the mountaineer is the closest to where you will be.
