So, shoes were provided by manufacturers for free, and weekend climbing trips and other gear were expensed. Probably tax deductions too. Maybe the house in the area!

Why is he hanging from the pin on Birdland?

I mean, I know why *I* hang there; that route has it in for me, and that move in particular. But he's tall. What's his excuse?

How else do you test shoes but to see how comfortable they are to hang in? For my gym shoes particularly, it's a requirement.

Perhaps a photographer that wanted 20 or 30 shots from different positions, angles, and perspectives?

"Why is he hanging from the pin on Birdland? "

To show off the shoes? Look at the position of his feet.

While Arthur Sulzberger is the publisher, the President and CEO of The New York Times Company, the person who actually runs the company and works for Sulzberger, is Janet Robinson.

I don't know, I reckon them Puma clambering shoes sound like just the mojo skins y'all need to spell a body poaching routes in the Palm Gat Lot. Make a long-tail think twice 'bout takin a bite out of a fellar sportin cats on his dogs.

Re: NY Times Climbing Shoe Review... - 10/23/05 11:19 PM

Re: NY Times Climbing Shoe Review... - 10/24/05 02:15 AM

Palm gat lot??

Sounds like a Yuppie with a PDA in one hand and a cappuchino in the other.

And a longtail? Ain't that a Harley? Oh no, that's a hardtail. Longtails is them non-returnable beer bottles...

Re: NY Times Climbing Shoe Review... - 10/24/05 11:28 AM

Don't think they were frappin cappucinos back in the day. Some fool went an Shon-gummed it.

Palmagat - The name first appears in a deed of September 18, 1823 that refers to the "Palm Gat lot."
Shawangunk Place-Names, Marc B. Fried. 2005.

As for them phantasmagorical long-tails, well, me an my coonhound are headed down to North Gully this mornin tracking down a sightin or two. Wish'd I was cloakin in a pair of them Puma clambering shoes. These 5.10s stand out like a busted thumb.
