at the slideshow alex lowe did at the inner wall years ago, he showed a guy using one of those on his trip to Kyrgyzstan -- used like a fi-fi hook, but into the ice.

Oh man, I am SO gonna get those! Leashless *and* a chicken hole at the bottom to clip into...
