Just as a public service announcement .... Sterling recycles ropes and you can often drop them of with sterling reps at climbing fests (ice fest, comps, etc.). Or mail them up to Maine.

Just to add to Julie's post - mailing via USPS to Sterling for recycling is very reasonable. I just packed a 10.2 60m in a tiny box and got it there for $12.

The rope will be recycled - the plan is to refurbish at least two chairs. That's the plan at least.
